Kabul Royal Champs of Kabul Women's Football League

Kabul Royal on Wednesday were crowned the champions of the Kabul Women's Football League after winning all six matches in the tournament and not giving up a single goal.

The league competition kicked-off two months ago with 36 matches between eight teams from Kabul.

Kabul Royal scored 31 goals during the six matches they played in the league.  

Last year Kabul Royal also won the title. 

Kabul Royal earned 18 tournament points and Sharifi Sport finished second place with 15 points.

Kabul Royal and Sharifi Sport qualified for the Women Champions League, in which provincial teams compete for a national title.

"We scored 31 goals and advanced without giving up any goals and now we are the champions,” said Adiba Ganji, a Kabul Royal defender.  

Zahra Foladi, from Adalat team, was named best player of the league while Manjizha Sadat from Sharif Sport team was recognized as the top scorer with 11 goals. 

“Such a league is really important in the development of women's football and I am really very proud and happy that a team is playing under my name,” said Aryana Sayeed, founder of the Aryana FC team.  

The Women Champions League will be held in different provinces, according to officials. 

“The Women Champions League will be held in the provinces, too,” said Arezo Rahimi head of the Kabul Women's Football Committee. “Champions of this league will play international matches.” 

Yasamin Haidari, head coach of the national women's football team, said “more games and competitions will raise the level of women's football.” 

Kabul, Bamiyan, Herat, Sar-e-Pul, Parwan, Balkh, Takhar, Ghor, Samangan will host the Women Champions League matches.  

Top teams of the Kabul league will compete in the Women Champions Football League.
