Football: Afghans to Face Indonesia in Warmup Match

The Afghanistan National Football team will play a warmup match against the Indonesian team on Tuesday in Antalya, Turkey.  

According to the officials at the Afghanistan Football Federation, the match is set to be held in the Global Sport Arena stadium.  

The Afghan team is currently in Turkey, where the players prepare at training camp under Coach Anoush Dastgir.   

The Afghanistan Football Federation in a statement said that the warmup match is scheduled on the eve of the AFC Asian Cup 2023.  

“Today, we had our fifth training, it was a kind of easy. We have played three rounds and each was twelve minutes,” said Shabir Yusufi, deputy coach of the Afghan team.  

The Afghan players said that they will put their best efforts into the game.

“God willing, we will win the match and bring a bit of happiness to our compatriots during such a critical time in Afghanistan,” said Mustafa Hadid, an Afghan player.
