U19 Asian Cricket Cup: Afghanistan Beats UAE by 140 Runs

Afghanistan’s Under-19 Cricket Team defeated the UAE’s U19 squad by 140 runs in a thrilling match of the Asian Cricket Council’s U19 Asia Cup at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Saturday.

The Afghan team lost the toss and batted first in the seventh match of the event. The two teams are competing in Group A.

Afghanistan now stands at number 2 in Group A after India, but the place will be affected by the result of the India and Pakistan match that takes place on Saturday.

Afghan Allah Noor’s 100 runs helped team Afghanistan to set 195 as the target for the UAE in 50 overs.

Bilal Sami took 3/12 in 5 overs, Khalil Ahmad took 3/23 in 5 overs, Izharulhaq Naweed took 2/7 in 2.4 overs and Noor Ahmad took 1/8 in 2 overs.

The UAE U19 team could not hit the target and all were out in the 15th over for 54 runs. 

Earlier, the Afghan team lost its match against Pakistan. Afghanistan set 52 runs as the target for Pakistan in which they lost by four wickets.
