A tripartite memorandum of understanding was signed between Moby Group, the General Directorate of Physical Education, and the Pamir Group of Companies to launch the second Victor Ghorsai (Traditional Game) Premier League.
The second Victor Ghorsai Premier League, initiated by Moby Group, will begin broadcasting on TOLO and LEMAR channels with financial support from the Pamir Group of Companies.
The organizers said that the aim of launching the second Victor Ghorsai Premier League is to expand and maintain traditional and cultural sports in a standardized manner.
According to the organizers, this league, like the first round, will be conducted in a standard manner with the presence of referees and coaches among athletes from eight zones of the country.
Sayed Naim Sarwari, CEO of Moby Group, said: "The Ghorsai game should be transformed from a local game to a national standard sport of Afghanistan with the help of the National Olympic Committee and the Kabaddi Federation, as well as with the financial support of the Pamir Group of Companies."
Mansoor Mowahed, broadcasting manager of TOLO TV, said: "With other sports programs we have had so far, we promise our fans and viewers that we will present a comprehensive and quality program this time as well."
Mir Ahmad Bahra, the spokesperson of the Pamir Group of Companies, said: "The goals and policies that we, Moby Group, and the National Olympic Committee have are very valuable to us; they are the support of sports, athletes, and sports enthusiasts."
Officials from the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports expressed their happiness at the signing ceremony of this memorandum for launching these traditional competitions and called for greater support for traditional sports.
"It has a very special impact; especially in provinces where everyone has access to media, this is very impactful," Hayatullah Rahmani, advisor to Physical Education and Sports, told TOLOnews.
"Broadcasting local games within the country is very beneficial. These games will reach their fans at the appointed time and will also introduce local games to foreign countries," said Atal Mashwani, the broadcasting manager of Physical Education and Sports.
Some fans of the Ghorsai sport have expressed optimism about the holding of these traditional competitions.
"It is for the growth of our youth and our national game. We support it," said Nadeem, a resident of Kabul.
The Nooristan team was the champion in the first round of the Ghorsai Premier League.
Ghorsai is one of the traditional games of the country with enthusiasts in various cities and villages.
