Afghanistan to Face South Africa in Champions Trophy Today

Afghanistan's national cricket team will face South Africa today (Friday, February 21) as part of the Champions Trophy tournament.

This match, within Group B, will take place at 1:30 PM Kabul time in Karachi, Pakistan.

The Afghan cricket team is set to take on South Africa after previously defeating them in international 50-over matches.

Hashmatullah Shahidi, the captain of Afghanistan’s national cricket team, told TOLOnews on Tuesday night that the team’s condition for the tournament is satisfactory and emphasized achieving positive results against their opponents.

Shahidi also stated that the Blue Tigers are under no pressure and that the recent sanctions imposed on the team in the coming months are of no concern to the national players.

In Group B of this tournament, Afghanistan competes against England, South Africa, and Australia.

The Champions Trophy, which began on Wednesday in Pakistan, features eight teams. In the opening match, Pakistan suffered a 60-run defeat against New Zealand.

In this competition, Afghanistan, South Africa, England, Australia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, and New Zealand are divided into two groups of four, competing for the championship title.
