Afghan Taekwondo Athletes Won Silver Medals in UAE

Farzad Mansoori and Mohsen Rezaee, Afghan Taekwondo competitors, both won silver medals in the Fujairah Open International Taekwondo Championship G2 in the UAE after each beat four opponents.

Mansoori and Rezaee competed in the 68 kg and 58 kg weight classes, respectively, according to the National Olympic Committee.

Hussain Latifi, Hikmatullah Zaeen, Samia Gulami and Zahra Mirzaee also won matches in the championship but didn’t win medals.

The 8th edition of the Fujairah Open received more than 2000 entries, with 1600 athletes coming from 43 countries, and more than 400 UAE-based Taekwondo competitors.

The event have gained importance for international participants after being ranked G-2 by the World Taekwondo headquarters in South Korea.
