Afghanistan To Play Three-Match ODI Series Against Bangladesh

Afghanistan’s National Cricket Team will play a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh in Dehradun in India in June, Cricbuzz.com reported.

According to the report, Bangladesh’s cricket board has agreed in principle to play Afghanistan in India, although the schedule for the series is still being discussed.

Afghanistan will also however, play its first Test match in June – against India - starting June 14.

Cricbuzz.com reported that Bangladesh officials are looking at an ODI series before Afghanistan’s historic Test.

Bangladesh’s opener Tamim Iqbal who is recovering from a knee injury, said on Tuesday he is confident of recovering in time for the proposed ODI series against Afghanistan.

Afghanistan, along with Ireland, were awarded Test status by the International Cricket Council in June last year.

Ireland will play their first Test match against Pakistan in May.

Afghanistan will be the fourth team to play their maiden Test against India, following Pakistan, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.
