Afghan Muay Thai fighters got three gold medals at a competition hosted by the Uzbekistan Muay Thai Federation which was held in Tashkent from December 11 to 14.
A team of five Muay Thai fighters from “Team B” of the national squad attended the event.
The athletes also got a silver and a bronze medal in the competition.
Jawad Karimi in the 63.5 kg weight class had three wins against his rivals from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan and earned a gold medal.
Aminullah Karimi in the 57 kg weight class had two wins and one draw against his rivals from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and won a gold medal.
Also, Salim Mubariz won a gold medal by defeating his rivals from Uzbekistan in the 57 kg of weight class.
Another Afghan Muay Thai fighter, Ibrahim Hazara, in the 67 kg weight class, had two wins against his rivals from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan but lost a match against an Uzbek. He won a silver medal.
Mohammad Khatami, in 71 kg weight class, won a bronze medal.
Athletes from Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan attended the event in Tashkent.
The Afghans returned home from the competition on Sunday.
