Cricket: Afghanistan Against South Africa Starts World Cup 2020

Afghanistan’s U19 Cricket Team will face host South Africa in the opening game of 2020 U-19 World Cup on January 17.

The schedule for the 16-team tournament, to be played over 24 days across eight venues, was announced by the International Cricket Council on Thursday.

Other matches will be held in Benoni, Bloemfontein and Potchefstroom, with the final scheduled on February 9.

Afghanistan is playing against South Africa, UAE and Canada in Group D of the competition.

There are warm-up games scheduled in January, ahead of the World Cup.

India has won the World Cup four times, Australia three times, Pakistan twice, and England, West Indies and South Africa have each won once.
