Football: India Ties Bangladesh, Faces Match With Afghanistan

India’s national football team had a 1-1 draw against Bangladesh on Tuesday night in a qualifying match for both the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

Afghanistan is in a group with Bangladesh, Oman, Qatar and India.

On Tuesday night, India tied Bangladesh as Adil Khan’s thumping header equalized the score in the final minutes, and India escaped an upset. Thus, India stands at the 4th place with 2 points from 3 matches.

India will face Afghanistan and Oman in the next international faceoff exactly a month later, playing Afghanistan first.

Afghanistan will host India at Central Republican Stadium in Tajikistan on November 14.

Currently, Qatar is on top of Group E with 10 points, Oman is second with 6 points, Afghanistan is third with 6 points, Indian is in fourth with 2 points and Bangladesh is fifth with one point.
