Rashid And Nabi’s Sunrisers Qualify For Playoffs In IPL

Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi’s Sunrisers Hyderabad qualified for IPL’s playoffs on Sunday after Kolkata Knight Riders lost to Mumbai Indian by nine wickets on Sunday night in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab were involved in a three-way on 12 points each, but Sunrisers qualified for the playoffs due to their better net run rate after KKR were handed a nine-wicket thrashing by Mumbai Indians on Sunday.

While Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians sealed their playoffs spots last week, the race for the final spot continued until the last match of the round-robin league phase.

In what has been one of the most hard-fought league stages of IPL so far, three teams were in the fray to seal the final berth on Sunday.

Eventually, Sunrisers piped Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab with better net run rate after the three teams were locked in a three-way tie on 12 points.

With the teams in the top-four decided, Chennai Super Kings will take on table-toppers Mumbai Indians in the Qualifier 1 on Tuesday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals will face Sunrisers in the Eliminator in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.
