Teams Bid on Players for Shpageeza Cricket League Auction

The seventh edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League auction was held Wednesday night in Kabul.

The league has six teams - Amo Sharks, Band-e Amir Dragons, Boost Defenders, Kabul Eagles, Mes Ainak Knights and Spin Ghar Tigers.

The Shpageeza Cricket League matches are scheduled to be held from September 13 to 25 at the Kabul Cricket Stadium.

The Shpageeza League is intended to help the Afghan players prepare for international competitions.

Top Afghan cricket players, including Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi, resumed training last month in Kabul, and focused on strengthening the batting, bowling and overall performance of the team.

Following a request to the Ministry of Public Health, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was approved in July 2020.

The ACB also said that it was their priority to run a successful tournament.

Afghanistan’s National Team is scheduled to play a single Test against Australia in Perth, starting November 21.
