Khalilzad told the US Congress that there are some groups that are challenging the Afghan peace process who want the current situation to continue in order to protect their personal interests.

On the other hand, some members of the US Congress have criticized the agreement between the US and the Taliban and challenged Khalilzad regarding the Taliban's links with the al-Qaeda network.

Meanwhile, the contact groups from both sides in Doha held two meetings on Wednesday. The purpose was to discuss the disputed points that remain in the rules and regulations, as well as to discuss the agenda.
