The exact location of the helicopter accident involving Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has been confirmed.
According to Tasnim News Agency, the incident occurred near the village of Ouzi in the Arasbaran forests, prompting rescue teams to rush to the scene.
The report indicates that the accident site is in a difficult-to-access area, creating challenges for the rescue teams.
The Iranian Minister of Interior Ahmad Wahidi, also confirmed to Tasnim News Agency that the helicopter carrying President Ebrahim Raisi was forced to land in East Azerbaijan province due to unfavorable weather conditions.
He added that the rescue teams have not yet reached the accident site.
“In the name of God, after the inauguration of Khoda Afarin Dam and Qiz Qalasi Dam with the presence of the President, on the return route, the President and his companions were returning with several helicopters. One of the helicopters was forced to make a difficult landing due to bad weather and fog in the area,” said Ahmad Wahidi.
Iranian officials have stated that eight emergency ambulances from the city of Tabriz have been dispatched to the accident site.
Ahmad Wahidi said: “Currently, various rescue teams are moving through another route in the area; however, due to the fog and bad weather conditions, it will take time to reach the helicopter site. Everything is under control, and the rescue teams are doing their job. We hope this will be completed as soon as possible.”
Ebrahim Raisi during a one-day visit to East Azerbaijan, met with Ilham Aliyev, the president of Azerbaijan, and inaugurated the Qiz Qalasi Dam, which was built on the border river Aras with the cooperation of both countries.
