Gaza Hospitals Overwhelmed Amidst Surge in Casualties

At least 274 Palestinians have died, and 698 others have been injured in the past 24 hours as a result of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, officials at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the central Gaza city of Deir al-Balah have said that the continuous Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have pushed the hospital to the brink of collapse, and they are facing severe shortages of medicine and medical supplies to treat the injured and sick.

"Our hospital is overwhelmed by such a large number of casualties, most of whom are women, children, and the elderly. It far exceeds our capacity. The hospital is packed with the injured and patients, which poses a great burden on us. In such dire circumstances, we do not have an adequate supply of medicines, medical equipment, and essential healthcare items, and lives of the injured and patients in hospital are in grave danger. If Israel's attacks continue to cause more casualties, the hospital will face an actual catastrophe. We urge all countries, the international community, and international organizations to immediately intervene and save Gaza's healthcare system, as most hospitals in Gaza have already stopped services," said Khalil Al-Dakra, spokesman, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

"For the millionth time, we deliver a message to the international community. We do not want aid, we want you to stop the war. We do not know where to go, they move us from right to left, and from left to right, they tell us to go to the south, come to the centre, go to Deir (al-Balah), go to Khan Younis. What is going on? Until when the damage will continue? We have been suffering for nine months. The baby in its mother's womb came to life amid damage and pain that we live in daily," said Mohammad al-Tahrani, a resident of Gaza.

"We were sitting at the doors of our homes like any normal day. Suddenly, we saw barrels falling on us and heard shooting. We couldn't escape. Our children were killed and injured. You see the destruction with your own eyes. Buildings collapsed and vehicles were burned with children inside them. This is something that has never happened before in the world. This means there is no safety in Gaza or anywhere," said Ayman Abu Zubaida, Palestinian civilian.

At the same time, Yemen's Houthis have reported an attack on a British warship in the Red Sea.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarae said that their forces used ballistic missiles in the attack on the ship.

He added: "In victory for the oppression of the Palestinian people and in response to the massacre in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip yesterday, the missile force carried a military operation targeting the British warship (Diamond) in the Red Sea with a number of ballistic missiles, and the hit was accurate by the grace of God.”

According to official statistics, since the start of the conflict between Hamas and Israel, 37,000 Palestinians have been killed and 84,494 others injured.
