The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 46,006, with 109,378 others injured, Reuters reported.
In the past 24 hours alone, at least 70 people have been killed and 104 injured in the enclave, according to the report.
Palestinian authorities reported that Israeli airstrikes on multiple locations across Gaza on Thursday led to dozens of casualties. One attack targeted a school in the Jabalia area in northern Gaza, killing four people, including a child and a woman, and injuring at least 25 others.
Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) set dozens of homes ablaze in northern Gaza on Thursday, igniting widespread fires across several areas.
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has stated that at least 74 children have been killed in various attacks in Gaza since the beginning of 2025.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden on Thursday (January 9) said that real progress was being made towards a Gaza deal as negotiators try to reach a ceasefire accord between Israel and Hamas, according to Reuters.
