The Palestinian Human Rights Center has reported that more than 12,316 Palestinian women have been killed during the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
In a statement released on International Women’s Day, the organization emphasized that many of these women were "brutally dismembered or burned alive," as if there were an attempt to completely erase their identities from history.
According to the report, women in Gaza have borne the heaviest burden of this war, with many losing their loved ones, being displaced, or suffering irreparable physical and psychological trauma.
The Palestinian Human Rights Center has also called for immediate international action to establish a permanent ceasefire to protect women and all civilians in Gaza. The center urged for:
• Uninterrupted humanitarian aid, including food, water, medicine, and shelter.
• Immediate opening of Gaza’s border crossings to allow injured women to receive medical treatment abroad.
• Rapid reconstruction of Gaza and comprehensive psychological and economic support for affected women.
The organization further stressed that the ongoing blockade and severe restrictions have worsened the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with women remaining the primary victims of this catastrophe.
