Thousands of people across various European countries including Spain, Germany, and France have marched in support of Palestinians and called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza.
Rachid, a Spanish protester, said: "I am here for the people. And why? Because I am a person, I defend people, humanity. I am against the assassinations. Whatever their names and colours may be, whatever their religion and ethnicity, their country, the important thing is to save lives, not to kill lives."
Adriana Calahorra, another Spanish protester, added: "Well, we're here gathering to demand a series of things against, mainly the arms embargo of Israel. We want the government to stop engaging in habilitating this genocide."
In Berlin and Paris, thousands also gathered in the streets, demanding an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian aid access for Palestinians in Gaza.
Marlon Tapper, a German protester, said: "After the USA, Germany is the largest supplier of weapons to Israel and war crimes are clearly being committed with these weapons and clear consequences must be drawn."
"We've been warning for several months that, well, there's a genocide being organised. But instead of being listened to, the government preferred to accuse us of advocating terrorism," said Tayeb Khouira, a French protester.
These protests are taking place as intense clashes between Iran and Israel have further escalated the Gaza crisis, raising fears of a broader conflict in the Middle East.
According to official figures, since Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip began in October 2023, at least 55,000 Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed.
