US Enters Iran–Israel War; Middle East Faces New Military Scenarios

With the direct involvement of the United States in the Iran–Israel war, the likelihood of the Middle East facing new and unexpected military scenarios has significantly increased.

This move comes despite prior warnings from Moscow and Pyongyang about its potentially disastrous consequences for Washington.

Vahid Faqiri, an international relations analyst, said: “This war paves the way for an arms race and a push toward acquiring nuclear weapons. Regional countries are likely to be encouraged to equip themselves with deterrent weaponry as soon as possible. We have entered a very dangerous phase.”

Iran’s religious leader and several senior officials had previously warned that if the US intervened militarily in the conflict between Iran and Israel, Iranian forces would target American military bases in the region.

Sadeq Shinwari, a military analyst, stated: “Tensions have entered a new phase and wave. There is a strong possibility that the scope of the war will expand, with serious political and economic consequences for regional stability and security.”

Wais Naseri, another international relations expert, noted: “As a result of this war, there may no longer be such a thing as a powerful America or a former Soviet Union. This conflict could lead to either the collapse or severe weakening of Iran, and also pose a serious challenge to the current Israeli government.”

Beyond the military consequences, there are growing concerns about economic disruption in the Persian Gulf and the possibility of Iran blocking the Strait of Hormuz.

Disruptions in the global energy market, damage to transportation infrastructure, and increased financial market risks are among the consequences that, according to experts, could affect the lives of millions of people worldwide.

Sayed Masoud, an economic analyst, said: “Only minor fluctuations have been observed so far—around one percent in energy prices such as oil, and slight movements in the stock markets. No signs of direct conflict have been seen in Iraq, Syria, or Turkey yet; however, the situation remains tense and unstable.”

Sir Quraishi, another economic expert, said: “A key consequence of this war is the potential spike in oil and gas prices, especially if the Strait of Hormuz is closed or disrupted. This could lead to global inflation, economic instability in the region, and reduced investor confidence in the Gulf, the Middle East, and North Africa.”

These developments come at a time when there were limited signs of willingness to reduce tensions and return to negotiations prior to the US strikes on Iran.

Now, with the US military's entry into the ongoing Iran–Israel conflict, the future outlook for the Middle East has become increasingly uncertain.
