U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel has agreed to the terms necessary for implementing a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza.
Trump called on Hamas to accept the proposal and added that Qatari and Egyptian mediators would deliver the final offer to the group.
A Gaza resident, Hassan Shaaban, said: "What matters is that the war ends and peace is established. Our children are starving; I only have enough supplies for today. I swear to God, I only have enough supplies for today."
Meanwhile, as international pressure mounts on Israel over the killing of civilians at aid distribution centers in Gaza, residents there are expressing doubt that genuine investigations are taking place.
The Israeli military announced that it has launched internal command-level investigations into the civilian casualties and injuries that occurred at aid distribution centers in Gaza.
Ahmad Abu Awdeh, another Gaza resident, said: “We heard today that those who open fire on people coming to receive aid will be investigated. Who are you complaining to, when your father is the judge? Who are you complaining to, when your father is the judge? Meaning, it's all in vain. We are coming here for death - for death. Find a solution for us, any solution. Keep us at home and send us messages, and we will come and collect the coupon (aid). Some people receive aid, and others don't. I go out, here, carrying bandages for those who die and get injured. Here, here is the blood of the injured here. I swear to God, I carry the wounded and wrap their wounds. Sometimes, I don’t even have time to get food for myself. I carry bandages and sit there treating the injured.”
Khaled Shaath, another resident of Gaza, commented on Israel’s claims: “The Israeli occupation claims that there are, or there will be investigations into the crimes committed against civilians in the aid (distribution) areas, but the Israeli occupation always lies and always claims that investigations will be opened into these crimes.”
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi movement has announced that it launched a ballistic missile from Yemen toward Israel. According to Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree, they also targeted an airfield in Tel Aviv.
Yahya Saree said: “The missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a qualitative military operation targeting Lod Airport (ed's note: referring to Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) located in the Israeli city called Lod) in the occupied area of Yaffa using a Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missile. The operation successfully achieved its goal, thanks to Allah, causing millions of herds of usurping Zionists to flee to shelters and halting airport operations.”
It has been over a year and a half since the Gaza war began. So far, more than 56,000 Palestinians—most of them civilians—have been killed by Israeli attacks. More than two million Palestinians are facing a severe humanitarian crisis, and since the limited resumption of aid deliveries on May 19 of this year, over 400 people have been killed while trying to receive aid.
