Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza: Israeli Attacks, Situation of Refugees

In the last day alone, at least 57 Palestinians have died in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, and 82 others have been injured.

Fares Afana, ambulance and emergency officer for medical services, said: "The Israeli occupation forces are committing a genocide against our Palestinian people. There are large numbers of wounded and martyred since the attacks on the Jabalia camp."

These attacks have caused the residents of the Gaza Strip to be displaced for the fifth consecutive time and leave their homes.

A displaced Palestinian said: "We don’t know where to go. We have been displaced from one place to the next. And now we have left. We don’t know where to go. We are running in the streets."

Mahmoud Salmi, a displaced Palestinian, said: "There is no place to camp, there is not enough water for all displaced people, there is not enough food for all displaced people, markets are not enough for everyone - at the same time, prices are very high and people are broke, they don't have shekels in their pockets to buy (anything)."

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that their war against Hamas is to ensure the freedom of hostages and the security and welfare of Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "This is exactly what the war revolves around: It's either us - Israel - or them - the Hamas monsters. Either continued existence, liberty, security and prosperity - or destruction, slaughter, rape and enslavement. And we are determined to be victorious in this struggle. We have exacted and we will exact a heavy price from the enemy for its criminal actions."

US National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan said that he does not believe that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Jake Sullivan said that military pressure was necessary but not sufficient to completely defeat Hamas.

Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor at the White House, said: "We believe Israel can and must do more to ensure the protection and well-being of innocent civilians. We do not believe what is happening in Gaza is a genocide."

He also emphasized that the initiation of Israeli military operations in Rafah was a mistake and exposes many civilians to risk without a clear strategic gain.
