Critics and members of a number of political parties on Saturday said that the government instead of fostering national consensus among the country’s political leaders is taking provocative unilateral decisions at a time that the country is passing through a sensitive situation.

Among the critics is Babur Farahmand, the deputy head of the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR), who in reference to the designation of a new governor for Faryab said that the government by taking political decisions without consulting the country’s political elders is creating serious challenges for the republic and that there is a need to avoid it.

“No doubt, making unilateral decisions without seeking consultations will weaken the position of the republic,” said Farahmand. “The people of Faryab will not put their lives and properties at risk at any cost.”
