MEHWAR: 'No Transparency' in COVID-19 Spending by Afghan Govt

The Afghan Ministry of Finance on Saturday said that the Afghan government has so far spent 3 billion afs and $15m dollars in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ministry of Finance also stated that Ministry of Public Health and the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) are responsible for investing the money, however, the Finance Ministry said that neither entity has so far reported back on their spending.

Meanwhile, Integrity Watch Afghanistan (IWA) has raised deep concerns over the possible embezzlement of the anti-COVID funds.
