Wahidullah Hashemi, a member of the Taliban leadership said there is a possibility that Afghanistan will be led by a council that will govern under the authority of the Taliban's top leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada.

Foreign embassies and organizations in Afghanistan said they are evacuating only those Afghans who are eligible to leave the country or who have worked with US forces.
