The Taliban fought with Afghan security forces in eight provinces of the country in the first day of the reduction in violence plan, according to reports sent by the public to TOLOnews. 

The clashes were reported in Faryab, Uruzgan, Paktia, Balkh, Baghlan, Badghis, Helmand and Kapisa provinces.  

Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah in a statement on Saturday once again rejected the presidential election results, saying the announcement is not credible and is based on "fraud."

The statement followed two days of meetings between Abdullah and other prominent politicians including: former Afghan president Hamid Karzai, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, a presidential candidate and the leader of Hizb-e-Islami party, Mohammad Karim Khalili, the leader of Hizb-e-Wahdat-e-Islami Mardom-e-Afghanistan, Batur Dostum, son of first vice president Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, Mohammad Mohaqiq, the second deputy of Abdullah, Salahuddin Rabbani, the leader of Jamiat-e-Islami party, and the former Minister of Finance Anwarul Haq Ahadi.
