At least 10 people were killed and several others were wounded in an explosion in the city of Kunduz on Saturday evening, targeting a gathering of security force members, including the provincial police chief.
city came under attack by the Taliban from three directions at 1:30 am on Saturday. Taliban reportedly captured some areas on the outskirts of the city, according to sources.
Acting Minister of Interior, Massoud Andarabi, says they were aware of the Taliban attack on the city of Kunduz in northeastern Afghanistan and that the government forces were well prepared to repel it.
It is the third complex attack by the Taliban on the city since 2015.
