The Ministry of Public Health on Monday reported 591 new cases of COVID-19 out of 1,095 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 11,582.

The announcement of the three-day ceasefire has raised hopes among Afghans who say it should continue in order to begin the intra-Afghan negotiations and move the peace process forward.
