The acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, in a meeting with Tomas Niklasson, the EU’s special representative for Afghanistan, called for meaningful participation in the third Doha meeting.
Zia Ahmad Takal, the deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Amir Khan Muttaqi, in a meeting with Tomas Niklasson, said that they are still deciding on whether or not the Islamic Emirate will participate in the Doha meeting.
According to Takal, the EU special representative for Afghanistan described the participation of the Islamic Emirate's representative in the third Doha meeting as significant.
The deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "In this meeting, Niklasson emphasized the importance of the participation of representatives from the Islamic Emirate in the third Doha meeting and said that important issues will be discussed in this meeting."
Meanwhile, some political analysts said the third Doha meeting is crucial for the people of Afghanistan and they said that the world and the Islamic Emirate must comply with each other's legitimate demands.
"When international officials come to Afghanistan, they try to study the thoughts of the Islamic Emirate in such matters to a large extent," said Idris Khan Zazai, a political analyst.
"They want to discuss their imposed conditions with the Islamic Emirate and persuade them to give up those conditions. As far as I think, this is against the principles of the Islamic Emirate and the world must also comply in this regard," said Samiullah Ahmadzai, another political analyst.
Earlier, two separate delegations, from the United Nations and Qatar, in meetings with the officials of the Islamic Emirate, had also emphasized the participation of the caretaker government in the third Doha meeting.
The third meeting of national special representatives, hosted by the Secretary-General of the United Nations on Afghanistan, is scheduled to be held on June 30 and July 1 of the current year in Qatar.
