At least 15 Border Police Force members were killed when a group of Taliban militants attacked their outpost in Zabul province on Thursday evening, sources said.
The source said the clash in Shemalzai district, in areas along the Durand Line, started on Thursday evening and continued by Friday morning.
A Humvee belonged to the border force and a Ranger vehicle were destroyed in the fighting, the source said.
The source said that at least 10 Taliban fighters were killed in the clash.
According to the source, two Border Police force members were wounded in the attack.
Local government officials have not confirmed the casualties.
