Turkmenistan Hosts Innovative Technologies Expo

A two-day International Caspian Exhibition of Innovative Technologies was held in Turkmenbashy International Seaport of Turkmenistan on Sunday.

The event is timed to the first Caspian Economic Forum, which is scheduled for August 12.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow in a message to the event said that international events will be crucial for the development of trade and economic relations not only between the Caspian States but also with all interested parties.

At least 60 countries presented the latest and leading technologies at the event.

The Caspian region countries include Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Turkmenistan.

The exhibition which was organized by the chamber of commerce and industries of Turkmenistan in which companies from Turkey, Belarus, France, Japan, Germany, Uzbekistan, the Netherlands, UAE, China, and Finland had also attended.

Some participants of the exhibition stressed the need for the development of their goods to different markets, including Afghanistan.

“The regional countries, including Afghanistan, form a big number of populations, they create a good market while having over 300 million population in total,” said Ansar Godarzi, a participant of the expo from Iran.

Head of Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Arash Yunusi, who has attended the event, said expansion of trade with the Campion region countries will boost the sector in Afghanistan.

“The Caspian region countries are one of the best markets for Afghan goods because we are close in terms of distance,” Mr. Yusuni said.

Afghan officials said Afghanistan can build good trade relations with the Caspian region countries.
