APL: De Maiwand Atalan, Oqaban Hindukush Play to 2-2 Tie

The last group match of this year’s Afghan Premier League (APL) ended 2-2 between De Maiwand Atalan and Oqaban Hindukush football clubs in Kabul on Friday.

The two teams stepped onto the ground with high morale, but it was De Abasin Sape who turned the match to its favor.

The first half ended 1-0 in favor of De Maiwand Atalan.

De Maiwand Atalan’s Rauf Qaderi scored the goal against Oqaban Hindukush.

In the 55th minutes of the game, Oqaban Hindukush equaled the game 1-1.

Later on, the two teams started more aggressive game and scored 2 goals against each other.

With the score, De Maiwand Atalan failed to make its way to the semi-final against Shaheen Asmayee.

De Maiwand Atalan is currently on the third position on the points table.

De Maiwand Ataln will play Simorgh Alborz if it wins its next match.

Hundreds of spectators among them women and girls flocked to the stadium to see  Friday’s game between the two teams.

This comes after the tenth match of (APL) on Thursday ended with a 3-1 win for De Abasin Sape against Mawjhai Amu.

Shaheen Asmayee, De Maiwand Atalan, Toofan Harirod, Simorgh Alborz, Mawjhai Amu, De Spinghar Bazan, De Abasin Sape, and Oqaban Hindukush are the eight APL teams representing all 34 provinces in Afghanistan.

Last year, Toofan Harirod from the west zone won the league title. Toofan Harirod has won the title three times.

APL was launched eight years ago and starts with regional selection tournaments in various areas of the country, and then ends with eighteen national league matches in Kabul.This year the league matches will continue until October 16.
