Women’s Football League to Begin Semifinals

The Afghan women's football team from Herat defeated Jawzjan on Sunday. Herat will now enter the league semifinals. 

Fatima Haidari, a player on the Herat team, scored five goals in the match, Adila Mohammadi scored two goals and Susan Mohammadi and Huma Karimi each scored one goal. 

Herat earned six league points by defeating Jawzjan. 

Ghor's team qualified for the semifinals after defeating Balkh on Saturday. 

Bamiyan also entered the semifinals, winning three points in its qualifying match against Herat.

“It was a good match… We will make greater efforts in the upcoming matches. I have scored eight goals in the league so far,” said Fatima Haidari, a member of Herat's team. 

“The match was great. We are preparing for our next match,” said Yagana Mohammadi, a member of Herat's team. 

The last match of this stage of the tournament will be held between Kabul and Ghor on Monday, and one of the teams will advance to the semifinals.
