Afghanistan’s spinner Mujib-ur-Rahman has joined his national teammates, cricket sensation Rashid Khan and all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, after he was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 auction on Thursday.

On the Thursday auction that lasted for at least three hours, Sunrisers Hyderabad had the least amount of purse and number of players to pick. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad picked their first player of the day just before the session was ending.

Sunrisers picked a total of three players - left-arm spinner Jagadeesha Suchith, veteran batsman Kedar Jadhav and Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb-ur-Rahman. 

Mujeeb, who was part of the Kings XI Punjab side last year, now has joined Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan, who have been part of the franchise for a few years now.

Sunrisers Hyderabad has bolstered their spin bowling stock with the addition of Suchith and Mujeeb while Nadeem, Rashid, Nabi and Abhishek Sharma are already in the squad.
