Football: Afghans Beat Indonesia 3-2 in Friendly Match

Afghanistan won a friendly match against Indonesia on Tuesday that was held in the UAE ahead of qualifier matches for the  2022 World Cup and the  2023 AFC Asian Cup.

The match kicked-off at 8:30am Kabul time and in the first minute Noorullah Amiri scored the first goal for Afghanistan. Amruddin Sharifi made it 2-0 for Afghanistan 44 minutes into the first half. 

Hussain Zamani, who was invited to Afghanistan’s national football team by coach Anosh Dastgir, made his first goal for the team at the beginning of the second half of the match, making the score 3-0.

Indonesia's team scored two goals at minutes 62 and 68 of the second half, but the match ended 3-2 in favor of Afghanistan. 

Afghanistan will face Singapore in another friendly match in the UEA which will kick off on Saturday.  

Before Tuesday’s friendly match, Dastgir said that his “team is ready to do their national duty.”  

Afghanistan will play Bangladesh on June 3rd in the  2022 World Cup and the  2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifier matches. Afghanistan will also face Oman and India in June.
