Afghan Boxer Parwani to Face Namibia's Meroro

Afghan boxer Shokran Parwani is undergoing hard training to face his powerful rival Vikapita Meroro of Namibia in London on October 10.

Parwani has been training with Anthony Joshua, a two-time unified world heavyweight champion, and Parwani says he is ready to fight and win.

Currently, Parwani is working with Joshua in a 90-day training camp.

“I have started my training with Joshua and my fight will be with Meroro in October,” Parwani said.

Parwani, 29, has fought 17 matches and won 16, losing his only match to rival Meroro.

Meroro, 36, has fought 40 fights, winning 30 and losing 10.

“I lost in my previous fight to Meroro. My countrymen encouraged me and this time I will do my best to win and make my country proud,” Parwani said.
