Mohammad Yousuf Jahangir, an Afghan Muay Thai fighter, has found his way to the quarter finals after beating his second opponent from South Africa in the Muay Thai World Championship in Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday.
Earlier, Jahangir won a match against an opponent from Singapore. The two back-to-back wins qualified the Afghan athlete to advance to the next round.
“I won the match today and I will play tomorrow (Thursday) against my Kazakhstan opponent," Jahangir told TOLOnews.
Yousuf Jahangir and Jafar Atifi are the two Afghan athletes representing Afghanistan in the competition in Bangkok. Over 1,000 athletes from 96 countries are attending the Muay Thai World Championship.
