Afghanistan’s national futsal team was defeated by Argentina in their second match of the World Cup tournament in Uzbekistan.
On Wednesday night, Afghanistan’s futsal players faced their Argentine counterparts in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, ultimately losing the match 2-1.
This intense match between the two teams took place at the "Huma Arena" gymnasium in Tashkent, hosted by Uzbekistan.
Initially, it was the Argentine players who took the lead, scoring against Mohammad Jawad Safi’s goal in the first half and putting Argentina ahead 1-0.
Throughout the game, Afghanistan’s futsal players missed several scoring opportunities against Argentina.
The first half ended with Argentina leading 1-0, and both teams left the field for the locker rooms.
In the second half, the teams faced off again. Unlike the first half, the second half saw Afghanistan equalizing the score to 1-1 with a goal by Hossein Mohammadi.
However, the Afghan players could not maintain the draw, and an Argentine player scored a second goal against Mohammad Jawad Safi, bringing the score to 2-1 in favor of Argentina.
In the final minutes, Afghanistan’s players increased the pressure on Argentina’s goal but were unable to score, ultimately losing the match 2-1.
This defeat follows Afghanistan’s victory in their first World Cup match, where they defeated Angola 6-4.
Afghanistan’s national futsal team will face Ukraine in their final group stage match next Saturday.
