The Afghanistan Football Federation introduced Usmon Toshev, from Uzbekistan, as the new head coach of the Afghanistan national football team, during a press conference on Monday.
He officially took charge of the national team by signing a one-year contract and holds a valid AFC coaching license.
Usmon Toshev's coaching experience includes working with several teams, notably the national football team of Tajikistan.
He stressed team cohesion, talent identification programs, and organizing training camps inside and outside Afghanistan, stating that his goal is to strengthen the position of the Afghanistan national football team at the Asian and global levels.
This 59-year-old coach was appointed following the resignation of English coach Ashley Westwood.
