Afghan Taekwondo Athletes Shine in Asian Open Championship in Pakistan

The Afghanistan Taekwondo Federation announced that the national taekwondo team has returned to the country after winning nine medals at the Asian Open Championship in Pakistan.

These competitions were held in the junior, senior, and poomsae categories.

In the seventh edition of the Asian Open Championship in Pakistan, Afghan taekwondo athletes secured four gold medals, one silver, and four bronze medals.

In this tournament, Sayed Zarif Hashemi, Sudis Sikandar, Hikmatuddin Akid, and Taimur Rahman Rahmani won gold medals. 

Hikmatullah Zain claimed a silver medal for the country, while Ehsam Rahimi, Ali Akbar Amiri, Azad Baik Nawrozi and Omid Sahak earned bronze medals.

The competition was hosted in Islamabad, Pakistan, with the participation of 27 countries from around the world, including Afghanistan.
