Afghanistan U19 Beats Nepal for the Second Time in a Row

Afghanistan’s national under-19 cricket team defeated Nepal in the second match of their one-day series.

The under-19 squad faced the host team today (Sunday, April 6) and set a target of 169 runs for Nepal in the first 50 overs.

In the second innings, Nepal’s players failed to reach the target set by Afghanistan and ultimately lost the match by a narrow margin of one run.

Afghanistan had also convincingly defeated Nepal in the first match of the series by a margin of 130 runs.

The national under-19 team is scheduled to face their opponent again in the third one-day match on the 9th of this month.

Officials from the Afghanistan Cricket Board stated that the purpose of these matches is to prepare the players for the ICC U19 World Cup Qualifiers, which will be hosted by Nepal later this month.

Afghanistan’s under-19 team will compete in the 2026 ICC U19 World Cup Qualifiers against teams from Oman, Nepal, the United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong.
