Afghanistan’s National Cricket Team on Friday headed to Scotland to attend four One Day International (ODI) matches against Scotland and Ireland.
The Afghan team will have two matches against Scotland on May 8 and 10 and then will go to Ireland and will have two matches against Ireland.
After the ODI matches, the Afghan team will travel to the United Kingdom for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
Before attending in the world cup, the Afghan cricket team will have two warmup matches with Pakistan and UK.
Gubuddin Naib, the national cricket team's captain, said they will try to appear among the four best teams in the world cup.
“We are going for the World Cup and I believe that we will have good achievements as our players are doing well,” said Naib.
The Cricket World Cup will kick off on May 30 among 10 countries in the UK and Afghanistan in its first match will enter the ground against Australia.
Afghanistan’s cricket team is going for the Cricket World Cup after on Friday after it was placed in the seventh position in the team rankings of the International Cricket Council for T20 Internationals.
