Afghan MMA Fighter To Face Russian Rival

Afghan mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Abdul Azim Badakhshi will face his Russian rival Denis Kanakov in Absolute Championship Berkut in Russia on Saturday evening.

The match will be held in the Olympic stadium in Moscow. 

Both the fighters have eight wins and one loss in their records. 

Badakhshi has eight wins in his record including six knockouts, two wins by submissions and one loss. 

Kanakov has eight wins in his record with one loss including six knockouts and two wins in score. 

Badakhshi is s 22 years old while Kanakov is 27 years old. Badakhshi taller than Kanakov. 

“Dear my countrymen! Please pray for me so I can win,” Badakhshi said in a video message to the people. 

“Badakhshi has followed his trainings very well in Kabul and after arriving to Moscow, we have provided him good trainers and we hope he will preform well in the cage and bring happiness to Afghanistan,” said Darmal Laho, match coordinator. 

The match will be held Saturday night at 7:00pm Kabul time in Olympic stadium of Moscow with the capacity of 35,000 viewers.
