The Afghanistan Cricket Board’s disciplinary committee lifted the playing ban Mohammad Shahzad, the ACB announced in a statement.

Shahzad was suspended for breaching the code of conduct. The details of the breach were not made public by the ACB, and Shahzad called it a "conspiracy" against him.

Shahzad was replaced midway during the 2019 World Cup by the board due to his knee injury.

But the keeper had called out the board on social media and questioned his replacement, calling himself fully fit.

Shahzad had accused ACB officials of “favoritism” in selecting players for the World Cup matches.

Shahzad was replaced by batsman Ikram Ali Khil.

Shahzad is one of the highest run-scorer in one-day internationals for Afghanistan.
