FIFA Rejects AFF President’s Appeal Over Interim Ban

Banned Afghanistan's National Football Federation President Keramuddin Karim has lost the first crucial stage in his effort to clear his name over allegations of sexual abuse.

FIFA says chief ethics judge Vassilios Skouris has dismissed Karim’s appeal against a 90-day interim ban while an investigation continues.

Ethics investigators announced the provisional ban, which can be extended by 45 days, in December after media reports of allegations by senior figures associated with the women’s team.

Karim has totally denied any wrongdoing saying there were those “inside and outside the country plotting against us”.

But Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani has also ordered an investigation while Danish sportswear brand Hummel have cancelled a national team sponsorship deal.
