The Afghan National Cricket Team will play Ireland in their first match of a One-Day International (ODI) series in India on Wednesday.

The two teams have met eight times in ODI matches. Afghanistan had three wins while Ireland has won five of the matches.

Afghanistan has played 31 ODI matches and has claimed the 10th position in the International Cricket Council’s ODI rankings while Ireland is ranked 12th after 20 ODI matches.

The Afghan cricketers will boost their position in the ICC rankings if they managed to win the series against Ireland.

The National Cricket Team defeated Ireland in the 3rd T20I and won the series 3-0 at Greater Noida in India on Sunday.
