TAWDA KHABARE: Doha Talks Expected to be on Reduction of Violence

The US rejoined talks with the Taliban on Saturday in Qatar, Doha, two months after they were called off by President Trump, US sources told TOLOnews.

“The US rejoined talks today in Doha. Focus of discussion will be reduction of violence that leads to intra-Afghan negotiations and a ceasefire,” the source said. 

Sahil Shaheen, a Taliban spokesman for the Qatar office, said that negotiations with the US had restarted where they had been halted. 

Meanwhile, the Presidential Palace said that based on the agreement with the US, every effort should be coordinated with the Afghan government and they should decide about the peace process jointly.
