People in Gaza Leave Houses as Israel Intensified Military Offensive

Residents of Gaza City fled in large numbers on Tuesday as Israeli tanks pushed deeper into the city, marking the second day of an intensified military offensive.

This escalation by Israeli forces has been met with warnings from Hamas that the heightened aggression could jeopardize ongoing ceasefire negotiations.

Efforts by Qatari and Egyptian mediators, supported by the United States, have been expedited this week to secure a ceasefire deal.

The proposed agreement aims to end the Gaza conflict and facilitate the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners detained in Israel.

The Israeli tanks advanced into key districts of Gaza City, including Shejaia, Sabra, and Tel Al-Hawa.

These areas have witnessed some of the most intense combat since the war between Israel and Hamas erupted.

Social media footage on Tuesday depicted families hastily loading their belongings onto donkey carts and trucks, attempting to escape the violence in response to Israeli evacuation orders.

"Gaza City is being wiped out, this is what is happening. Israel is forcing us to leave homes under fire," said Um Tamer, a mother of seven, in a message to Reuters.

The Palestinian Red Crescent announced that all its medical clinics in Gaza City were out of service due to the evacuation orders, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

As U.S. officials intensify their push for a ceasefire, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh warned that the renewed Israeli offensive could derail the negotiation process. "The renewed campaign could bring the negotiation process back to square one," Haniyeh stated on Monday.
