Funeral Ceremony of Ismail Haniyeh Held in Tehran

The funeral ceremony of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau, was held today (Thursday) in Tehran. 

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the religious leader of Iran, led the funeral prayer for Ismail Haniyeh, but the burial ceremony for the head of Hamas' political bureau will take place in Qatar's capital.

The speaker of the Iranian Parliament, in this ceremony blamed Israel and the United States for the attack on Ismail Haniyeh and stated that Israel will pay for its actions at an appropriate time and place.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian Parliament, said: "The Zionist usurper should know that it will pay a heavy price for the cowardly assault on the secure territory of the Islamic Republic."

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Hamas in Gaza quoted witnesses who were with Ismail Haniyeh in Iran, saying that the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh was carried out by a missile and was a direct target.

Khalil al-Hayya, the Deputy Head of Hamas in Gaza, added: "Regarding the incident of my dear brother, according to witnesses who were with my brother Ismail Haniyeh, a missile entered the room where Ismail was and directly hit him. We are now awaiting a full investigation by the relevant parties, as this missile clearly destroyed the windows, some doors, and some walls."

Khalil al-Hayya also spoke of punishing Israel for the attack on Ismail Haniyeh, adding that Israel will pay for what it has done.

He added: "These are the historical stances of men and the positions of great leaders. The stance will be taken at the appropriate time. This crime was against a guest of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The perpetrator, the occupying Israel, must pay for it. We now leave the cost payment to the relevant authorities. Today Hamas announces that the occupier will not be spared from punishment."

Meanwhile, the political deputy prime minister of the Islamic Emirate has also traveled from Tehran to Doha, the capital of Qatar, to attend the funeral ceremony of Ismail Haniyeh.

Hamdullah Fetrat, the deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, said: "A high-ranking delegation led by Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the political deputy prime minister, who had traveled to Iran, has today traveled from Tehran to Doha to attend the funeral of Ismail Haniyeh tomorrow."

The body of Ismail Haniyeh is expected to be transferred from Iran to Qatar on Thursday and will be buried in Doha on Friday.
