UNRWA’s Shutdown in Gaza: International Outcry and Calls for Reversal

Israel’s parliament approved a proposal to shut down UN aid agency UNWRA in Gaza and other parts of Palestine, which currently provides assistance to displaced Palestinians. 

This move has sparked reactions from regional and Western countries.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres urged Israel to reverse its decision, stressing that the closure of UN aid agencies would worsen the situation for displaced Palestinians. 

According to Reuters, more than 100,000 Palestinians are currently trapped in conflict zones.
