Misri: India to Share Details of Sindoor Operations with UNSC

Indian Deputy Foreign Minister Vikram Misri, in a press conference held today (Thursday, April 18), spoke about the Sindoor operations carried out on Pakistani soil and the developments that followed.

Two female commanders of the operation, Sofia Qureshi and Vyomika Singh, were also present at the press briefing and shared details of the recent escalations with the media.

In his remarks, Misri stated that India’s retaliatory strikes against Pakistan would continue as long as Islamabad persisted in its acts of aggression. According to Misri, Pakistan initiated the recent tensions and violence with the April 26 incident in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

Misri added that in the coming days, India will hold a session with the United Nations Security Council to present details of the Sindoor operations and share updates on the latest developments.

During the press conference, Misri also said that since yesterday morning, Pakistan has attempted multiple aerial attacks on Indian territory, but none have been successful. However, the use of light and heavy artillery in border regions has resulted in the deaths of 16 civilians, including women, and injuries to 59 others.

He and military commander Sofia Qureshi both repeated the claim that the operations exclusively targeted terrorist elements and did not strike any military installations or civilians, contrary to Pakistan’s claims that Indian forces had hit infrastructure targets — claims that India has strongly denied.

In response to a question regarding Pakistan’s "propaganda" claims of downed Indian aircraft, Misri said that Pakistan has spread lies and propaganda since its inception, and there is no doubt that it continues to do so.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar claimed that between 40 to 50 Indian soldiers were killed along the Line of Control and that a key Indian military post was destroyed.
